The key focus of the JCI EMKL Photo Contest is to use the immense power of imagery or photography to influence the way that we understand and engage with the community around us for the end goal of promoting unity. Indeed, Diversity is Our Strength and aptly is the theme for this year's photo contest in-conjunction with the 63rd Merdeka Celebrations and 57th Malaysia Day Celebrations
Diversity of Photography approaches
The figure above shows the Sustainable Development Goals which are the blueprint to achieve a better and more sustainable future for all. The photo contest encourages diversity of photographic approaches that reflect vibrant and continuing photographic traditions that promotes the Diversity Is Our Strength tagline through the SDG Goals. At the same time, the contest embraces and reveals how our audience is engaging with new forms and approaches to image making in a technologically changing world. It demonstrates how they respond to and represent both their own personal contexts and some of the more pressing and dominant issues of our time.
The photo contest is open to Malaysians from all walks of life. There are no restrictions on who can enter. As the photo contest for this year aims at celebrating the 63rd Merdeka and 57th Malaysia Day Celebrations, the inclusion of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) by United Nations is a cornerstone to promote the Diversity is Our Strength tagline. To transform our world in Malaysia: The categories are:-
30 (Thirty) of our favorite submissions will be shared on our website, Facebook and other social media platforms! Two (2) winners from each categories, with the most “likes” and “shares” will be awarded winner certificate of recognition, trophy and cash vouchers worth RM 1,000 each.
